In the UK, people are preparing for the general election, which will decide which poitical party will take up office in government. Many Muslims will be taking part in this voting, mistakingly believing that they are doing a good thing, that by voting for one of these parties, they will be making a useful contribution to society.
This is a mistaken belief.
None of the political parties has done anything significant in their history to support Islam and Muslims – none of them ever will. Those Muslims who believe that by taking part in voting, they can bring Islam into favour, are completely fooled. Voting does not give you any influence over politics, over governmental decisions, or even your own local affairs. All voting does is to give power to those people who are the worst in society to lead us. Don’t forget that over 1 million people marched against the UK going to war against Iraq – the government ignored all these people and the millions more who objected from their homes.
And have you forgotten that none of the political parties stood up for Islam and Muslims when France and the world, including the UK, repeatedly offended us by publishing cartoons of our beloved Prophet . They all stood back and claimed that this was ‘freedom of speech’, knowing that it would offend all sincere Muslims across the world – yet, these same parties are more than happy to lock up Muslims on ‘terror’ charges for even talking in the ‘wrong way’. They are hypocrites and the freedom of speech they want is their own – it doesn’t include Muslims. Our imams are scared to preach properly to the Ummah at Jumu’ah. Why? Because there is no freedom of speech for the Muslims.
So, all those Muslims who believe that it is their right to vote, that they are making a difference by voting – WAKE UP! In the past 170 years in the UK, voting has never helped the Muslims, has never helped Islam. There is not one significant case that ‘liberal’ Muslims can bring forward that demonstrates how voting has furthered Islam in this country. Don’t waste your time with voting – your voice is ignored, the politicians are just after power, which they will not use in your favour. Voting for these parties inevitably means voting for something which is against Islam and will undermine the Muslim Ummah. The political have never done anything to help Muslims.
Think before you act.
ISLAMIC RULING ON VOTING:
Excerpt taken from IslamQA – for more, follow this link.
Democracy is a man-made system, meaning rule by the people for the people. Thus it is contrary to Islam, because rule is for Allaah, the Most High, the Almighty, and it is not permissible to give legislative rights to any human being, no matter who he is.
It says in Mawsoo’at al-Adyaan wa’l-Madhaahib al-Mu’aasirah (2/1066, 1067):
Undoubtedly the democratic system is one of the modern forms of shirk, in terms of obedience and following, or legislation, as it denies the sovereignty of the Creator and His absolute right to issue laws, and ascribes that right to human beings. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“You do not worship besides Him but only names which you have named (forged) — you and your fathers — for which Allaah has sent down no authority. The command (or the judgement) is for none but Allaah. He has commanded that you worship none but Him (i.e. His Monotheism); that is the (true) straight religion, but most men know not” [Surah Yusuf 12:40]
“The decision is only for Allaah” [al-An’aam 6:57]
End quote.
Stand Up 4 Islam!
